Collection: Portraiture
Portraiture is the foundation of my work. I strive for Amplification through Simplification, as described by the comic theorist Scott McCloud; by refining a face down to its essential elements I can communicate a realistic or essential portrait in one continuous minimal line.
Drawing from mid century modern and the feeling of Matisse and Spansberg, I combine aesthetic investigation with the feeling and flow of Barry McGee and Parra. Modern and contemporary art, street art, manga, comics, and more influence my practice.
In here you will find both my realistic portraits, and more intuitive gestural ones. Every piece is unique, and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
